I have been crocheting up a storm over here. Between the cool Fall weather and my tv programs coming back on, I've been spending most evenings cuddled up watching the tube and crocheting. Scarves mostly lately.
This past week as I caught up on my MadMen reruns, since I'm eagerly awaiting the next season to start, I crocheted a few scarves.
I made this scarf using Cozy Wool in Steel, it is a mix of 50% wool and 50% acrylic. This might just be my new favorite yarn. I used my own pattern, and jotted it down. I hope to find time to tweak it, check gauge...etc...and post the pattern soon. It's really simple, mostly shell stitch. The scarf worked up fast.
Using the same shell stitch pattern, I made the scarf into an infinity loop. I like the way it turned out here too.

I made this one for a custom request. It's inspired by the scarf Mary Poppins wears in the film.
I used Bernat Soft Boucle, and I love the feel of it. So soft.
That's all for now. Enjoy your day :) What are you crocheting?

These are all very pretty. I like the stitching in the first one. And the color of the second is gorgeous. As for Mary Poppins that scarf is perfect.
These are lovely...I love the infinity loop one, and it is such a lovely colour!!
Very pretty!
Right now I am working on a hat and scarf for a friend who runs. I am also working on a shawl with broom stick lace in it-this is a new one for me, I've never done broom stick lace. After these are completed it will be three hats for a friends daughter and two granddaughters.
I love the stitching as well and I have to agree with Jennafroggy - the color of the second scraf is gorgeous. I will have to buy some of the yarn you mentioned is your new favorite. I have a few scarves to make myself and that might just be the inspiration I need.
I especially like the way that it looks as an infinity loop and love the color on that one too!
thank you ladies, I did have fun creating these.
red: thanks, the yarn is really nice and soft, I just love it. I wasn't going to make a scarf, but the yarn made me do it....know what mean? lol
crochetblogger and hazel: that dark teal is one of my favorite colors.
fofo: sounds like you have alot of projects going, happy crocheting ;)
jenna: thank you. I wanted to give it texture, and the shell stitch was really simple to do.
that is beautiful! I just finished a granny square scarf and want to get started on something like this! Very Chic.
amazing :)
These scarves are lovely! I can't wait to see the pattern for the first scarf. I want to make my kids scarves and I'm stuck on what patterns to do. What size needle did you use for the first one?
The Mary Poppins scarf is very cool! The other one is gorgeous as well. :)
thank you all for your nice comments :)
My Sweet Inspirationz: I used an 8.00 crochet hook for that first scarf. The yarn is bulky so it worked up really fast.
