Diego's Chihuahua Cowl/Infinity Scarf *free pattern*

I've been making so many cowls lately, I decided my Diego needed one too.
This Chihuahua Cowl/Infinity Scarf pattern is easy to make and a great scrap project. It's more of a formula than a pattern, since you size it as you go. It can fit any dog really, you just need to make the starting round as small or as large as you need.

Skill level: Beginners
Materials needed:
*Crochet hook size 5.00/US H8
*your choice of yarn, I used Caron's worsted weight, scrap yarn would work nicely for this project.

gauge: not important

round 1: Start a chain that will easily fit around your dogs neck (see photo).
I chained 34 for my chihuahua. This chain is meant to slip over your dog's head easily and it should not be tight around their neck. You need your dog nearby so you can measure the starting chain.

Once you have the chain as long as you need it, careful not to twist it, sl st to join.

round 2: ch2 (counts as first hdc), *hdc around*, join to beg ch2
rounds3-?: repeat round 2 for as wide as you want your pet Cowl/Infinity Scarf to be.
For Diego's cowl, I worked 6 rounds.



Sl st to join, finish off and weave in any loose ends.




*note*
This cowl is a pet accessory and is meant to keep your pet warm, but please don't leave it on your pet while he or she is unattended, as the cowl can become entangled on anything and you want to keep your pet safe.
